My son turned eight this summer and after two years of “drive-by” pandemic parties, was so excited to finally have a face-to-face celebration with his friends. While I was more than happy to plan a party, I really, really, really did not want to host the event at our house. Between the pre-party cleaning, set-up, food, entertainment, and clean-up, it seemed like a lot of work (and cleaning) for just a couple of hours of birthday fun. I started to search the web and look on my top parent blogs for some exciting venue options, and I eventually landed at Sky Zone Trampoline Park.
My kids have always loved attending the open jump times at this attraction, but I was under the impression that parties here were quite pricey. I did my research and read through the party portion of the website and soon discovered that Sky Zone has lots of different package options depending on the size of the party and how elaborate the hosts would like the event to be. In our case, we wanted to keep the party on the small side, so we decided to go with the basic (silver) package which included jumptime, custom invitations, plates and cutlery, pizza, and drinks for up to ten kids. Since it was the middle of summer and the kids didn’t have school the next day, we also took advantage of the 20% off weekday discount and hosted the party on a Thursday evening. The whole thing seemed so easy, I just couldn’t believe it! All we needed to bring were cupcakes and birthday favors!
A few days after booking the party, I received a call from a Sky Zone representative who verified the time and details of my event. She was very professional, answered all my questions, and addressed my concerns. When I needed to call back and make some changes a few days later, the party planners happily helped me out with a special dietary accommodation and a slight change in guest count.
On the day of the party, my birthday boy was so excited that he could barely contain himself! We arrived at the venue and met up with our Dedicated Party Pro, Olivia. She checked everyone in and handed out the special orange, treaded Sky Zone socks (also included) to all the jumpers. She then led the party group to a private trampoline area where the kids all had a blast bouncing, tumbling, and doing cool ninja and gymnastic tricks. I was thrilled to see their smiling faces and even happier that they were jumping on the trampolines and not my brand-new couch. Olivia supervised the group and handed out bottled water as needed.
After lots of jumping, the kids headed over to the obstacle area. This section of the park consisted of three different courses of varying degrees of difficulty. There were rope swings, nets, rings, and other crazy contraptions. The kids had so much fun challenging themselves on the courses and they all attempted the obstacles numerous times. I simply couldn’t believe how coordinated and agile these eight-year-olds were! They all had so much fun and the look of accomplishment when they completed a course, was amazing.
The kids ended their hour of jumptime with a friendly game of dodgeball. They had the entire court for themselves and burned off their last bits of energy by throwing the soft balls at one another. By the time it was over, they were getting pretty tired and were definitely ready to eat. We headed to the private party room (that Olivia had magically set up while the kids were jumping) for forty minutes of festivities. We started with some yummy pizza, and then it was on to the cupcakes. When we turned off the lights to sing “Happy Birthday,” we were amazed as the room was spectacularly lit up with glow lights. My birthday boy was thrilled to receive a cool complimentary Sky Zone shirt which all his friends were able to sign with the special pens that Sky Zone provided. The parents soon came in to pick up their kiddos and my husband and I gathered up the presents and we headed for home to open gifts. It was so nice to be able to relax and not worry about cleaning.
We reflected on the party and I could tell that my son had a blast when he told me that “the party was epic!” Looking back, I am so glad that I booked his party at Sky Zone. It was so hassle-free that without hesitation, I gave Sky Zone Trampoline Park parties a five-star rating on the KidFriendlyVenues app. For the best kid-friendly venue, my favorite of my busy mom time management tips, and one of the best places to visit with family, I highly recommend checking out Sky Zone at a location near you are on this fantastic app.
