Story Land is a must visit for families with young children. Located in scenic Glen, New Hampshire this attraction is just over two hours from Manchester, NH. The park is packed full of fun rides and play areas themed around our favorite storybook characters. Our family of five loves everything about Story Land, but most of all we love the live shows and character meet-and-greets!
This is a park that can entertain my family for the whole day, as we typically go from open to close. I highly recommend this park for ages eight and younger or for older kids that are not thrill seekers! We can assure parents that a mixed family of ages like ours (4, 12 & 14 years) can all love this amusement park together.

Tips and Tricks
Here is the inside scoop for this theme park!
- Motion sickness warning! A lot of the smaller rides spin in smaller circles, leaving some bellies feeling icky.
- While Story Land does not allow “coolers”, we always pack a soft-sided insulated bag full of drinks and snacks.
- Purchase tickets online to get the best deal!
- Story Land offers a Medical Access Pass for those who are unable to stand in lines. In addition, they have a calming room and quiet dining area.
Our Favorite Play Areas
Make sure not to skip our recommended themed play areas. These are great places for parents to relax and enjoy the fun without waiting in lines:
- Grandfather Tree Playground is on the right as you enter. This area has children climbing up the middle of the tree with fun slides coming down. Make sure to wait to hear him talk!
- Little Dreamers Nursery Rhyme Play Area is a must-see for your younger children. This courtyard includes an oversized pie, shoes with buckles, and many other attractions from your favorite stories.
- Oceans of Fun Sprayground makes water play especially fun with a yellow submarine and ocean- themed splash pad. Make sure to pack bathing suits and water shoes for this attraction!
- We have spent hours and hours in the Loopy Lab Play Area. This is the best foam ball play area with ball shooters and ball vacuums galore. Kids immediately run in to experiment with all the fun air contraptions!
Must-Ride Thrill Attractions!
- Polar Coaster is one of the best small roller coasters I have ever been on. My older boys agree, always choosing to visit this attraction several times during our stay.
- Roar-O-Saurus is a ride that this mom always sits out on! The wooden roller coaster is a bit too bumpy for my taste, but my older kids love it.
Best Places to Cool Down!
These attractions offer the perfect way to cool down on a hot day:
- Dr. Geyser's Remarkable Raft Ride is a tamer water ride that allows families of six or less to sit together in a round river raft type of float. You take a trip along the mystical rivers where you get sprayed and misted. Some will leave soaked while others won’t get wet at all!
- Splash Battle: Pharaoh's Reign is our favorite water ride. This ride floats along a track and is equipped with water cannons on the boat and on land that battle each other. We always leave soaked and happy. Kids who do not like water in their faces should skip this one! You never know who will be blasting you and some strangers can be relentless.
- Bamboo Chutes is a fun introduction to a log flume ride with a mild drop at the end. While the thrill level is not high, it is still a favorite amongst our older kids.
Story Land has featured before on our Kids Friendly Venues Blogs here on our Momstribute.com website. There is good reason. It has frequently got a five star rating on our KFV app by moms from near and far who know a good thing when they see it! So trust their judgement and enjoy a fab day out with your kids.
